How to Enter

 

Step 1: Carefully review the rules and eligibility to enter

The WAW Global Sustainability Competition is open to students aged 10-18. Students may enter as individuals or teams. This is an international competition, and students residing anywhere in the world are eligible to enter. Students who have graduated from high school at the time of the competition deadline are not eligible to enter.

 

Competition divisions are based on student age at the time of the competition deadline:

Junior Division: Ages 10-14

Senior Division: Ages 15-18

 

Participants can enter as individuals or teams (up to 5 members per team). A student who is submitting as an individual cannot submit as a team member, and a student submitting as a team member cannot submit as an individual.

 

All participants are required to provide contact information for their adult sponsors (parents or teachers).

Step 2: Review the competition theme and judging criteria

 

The theme for the 2024 WAW Global Sustainability Competition is "Everyday Actions for the Environment".

Judging Criteria:

 

Relevance of the submission to the competition theme.

Quality of the submission in terms of message, originality, skill, and delivery.

 

Our management staff and a team of experts will evaluate the submissions.

Step 3: Prepare and create your piece!

 

Review and select a category you are interested and carefully check the submission requirements for the selected category.

 

The categories are:

 

  • Visual Art / Photography

  • Written Word / Spoken Word

  • Film / Performing Arts

  • Interactive & Multimedia

  • Research/Proposals

 

 

Step 4: Prepare the Statement of Work

 

Every submission must include the Statement of Work. Team submissions also require the team’s Statement of Work. The purpose of this statement is for students to introduce the judges to their work. A well-written and thoughtful statement will improve your chances, so please spend time reflecting on your work. Please click here for more information on the Statement of Work.

 

 

Step 5: Review the submission checklist

Step 6: Submit your work!
