HOW TO ENTER
Q : How do I enter the WAW International Environmental Competition?

WHO MAY ENTER
Q :Who can participate in the competition?
A : Students 10-18 (except for high school graduates) from across the world are encouraged to participate in the WAW Competition.
Q :Should I participate as an individual or team?
Which division (Junior or Senior) should I participate in?
A :
Competition divisions are based on student age at the time of entry:
Junior Division: Ages 10-14
Senior Division: Ages 15-18
Participants can enter as individuals or teams (up to 5 team members).
Q: Do I need permission from my parents/teachers to participate in the competition?
A : Yes, all participants are required to provide contact information for their adult sponsors (parents or teachers).
Q: Can homeschooled students participate in the competition?
A : Yes, you can.
Q: Can I submit my work after the deadline?
A : No, you can't.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Q: Which category should I select?
A: Please look up our competition categories and find out an area which suits your best interest.
Q: What kind of work can I submit?
A : Please read our competition categories. There is detailed information for you to work on your submission.
Q: Can I submit work in more than one category?
A : You are allowed to choose only one category per year.
Q: What language should my work be in?
A : The Statement of Work can be in English or Korean. If it is in Korean, you need to also provide its English translation.
Q: How should I send my work?
A: We only accept submissions via e-mail, info@wawact.org.
Q: What is your policy on plagiarism and AI use?
A : AI-generated works are not permitted and will be automatically disqualified.
Q: Can I submit my work to other competitions and organizations?
A : Yes, you may use your own work to enter other contest.
JUDGING & AWARDS
Q: Who are the judges?
A : Leading experts around the world are invited to participate on the jury by WAW ACT in the fields of films, the visual and performing arts, language arts, multi-media, science, and environmental studies.
Q: How are submissions judged for awards?
A : Each jury considers and interprets the submissions relative to the category definition and criteria.
Q: When are winners announced?
A: By the end of August of the competition year.
The 2024 WAW Competition results will be announced in fall same year. Winning students and their sponsors will be notified individually by email before public announcement of results.
